Our History
In the Athens Street Corridor, the Harrison Square Apartments have been hosting individuals and families for over 50 years. In 2023, the Gainesville City Council advanced with plans to replace and renovate the long-standing affordable housing community, offering a newly constructed, 120-unit complex now known as Harrison Village.
Located across the street from the Butler Community Center and Park, Harrison Village is a part of the larger redevelopment of the Athens Street Corridor.
With continued efforts for revitalization of the area, the Harrison Village community benefits from landscape and building beautification, expanded roadway and pedestrian infrastructure, and preferable parking solutions.

A Gainesville Housing Authority Community
The party that put forward the plans to renovate the housing was Gainesville Housing (GH). Harrison Village is one of the many GH communities in the Hall County area. Established in 1949, the organization is dedicated to providing affordable and quality housing options for the residents of Hall County. GH communities have been recognized nationally for innovative development and rehabilitation of properties. Resident-focused, GH offers a variety of programs and services for residents of all ages and backgrounds.
